Adirondack Park & Forest Preserve Manager Environmental Specialist III New York State Dept of Transportation Ph: (315) 793-2421 [email protected] |
Ed Frantz has worked at NYSDOT for the past 25 years. Since 2006, he has served as the Department’s Adirondack Park and Forest Preserve Manager, supporting the five NYSDOT Regions with portions of the Catskill and Adirondack Parks within their boundaries. NYSDOT recognizes the important relationships between transportation and the Parks. Mr. Frantz furthers the understanding of those relationships in his leadership capacity as the Department’s point of contact for both Parks--developing guidance, making recommendations, and facilitating sustainable approaches.
In addition, Mr. Frantz has worked for NYS Parks and the Department of Environmental Conservation and has a broad practical understanding of environmental topics, project development/delivery, and social needs. A graduate of SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, he currently serves on the board for the NYS Wetlands Forum and on the National Academy of Sciences-Transportation Research Board’s Committee on Ecology and Transportation (ADC 30). Mr. Frantz is also the former Chairman of the NYS Flora Association, a founding member of the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program, and a former board member for the NYS Invasive Plant Council. |
