Matt leads the Ohio DOT programs in ecological assessment, coordination, and mitigation; regulated materials; and waterway permits and mitigation. He has extensive experience in human-wildlife interaction research and mitigative techniques, ecological field investigations, mitigation design and monitoring, agency coordination, environmental compliance, and enterprise-wide sustainability program development. Matt also leads ODOT’s statewide climate change vulnerability assessment and action plan as well as guiding ODOT’s statewide environmental commitment implementation program. He received a B.S. in Biology, Environmental Studies, Forestry, and Field Ecology from Ohio Northern University and The University of Eastern Finland, and an M.S. in Biology and Wildlife Ecology from Minnesota State University.
